Re: PIREP's on Seat Stop SB?

At my last annual in February, my IA installed the newest Cessna seat stop solution. It consists of an inertial reel attached to the seat frame and a seat belt type belt stretched foreward and bolted to the floor. The inertial reel is released by pulling the seat adjustment bar. So adjusting the sea...

Hooker has also been trying to get an STC for their own inertial reel harness for our airplanes. I think he has been working on this for about 5 years, and is navigating the complex engineering hoops the FAA has placed before him. Each year I approach Jack at Oshkosh and ask "is it done yet?&qu...

Iowa, I don't think you would recognize Clow today, it is surrounded by development. I fly in there occasionally to have lunch at "Charlies" the little eatery on the field. On final to 36 you think your main gear are going to knock the shingles off the roofs of the two and three story town...

George, Thanks for your kind endorsment of controllers. As a 23 year Chicago center controller it is nice to see that knowledgeable people in aviation recognize and appreciate our hard work and dedication. Even though FAA management thinks we are the cause of all their problems. Steve N8293A '53 C170B

John,
I am hoping to be able to get back down to Petit Jean, although my schedule is always an issue, unfortunately. A 2 ship would be fun, lets keep it in mind.

John, correct me if I'm wrong, but you do have a 210 HP IO-360 correct? Sorry, jworth94 are you still with us? Really John you deserve alot of credit for all the work you did on that airplane. We have seen the panel, so put modesty aside and inspire us. I think a picture of the engine instalation an...

John gets my vote also, his airplane is amazing. His hangar is directly across from mine, and if his airplane is out, I leave mine behind closed doors!

Kyle, I'm with you on this one Kyle. One of the many little things I love about my airplane is that rotating beacon. It is just right for the airframe and the era they were built. I hope that old motor keeps on turning, because it would break my heart to have to replace it with a strobe. I would rea...

Dave I have an intercom with the external audio input. I recently purchased an inexpensive MP3 player (RCA Lyra), it costs around $60.00 and holds about three hours worth of music on its internal memory, but also has a slot for an SD Media card to triple that capacity. A simple inexpensive solution....

Mike Vivion lives in Fairbanks and flies for the Forest Service I believe. In 1998 I had the pleasure of meeting Mike on a trip to Fairbanks to pick up my '53 C170B. Mike was recomended to my partner and I by the local pilots to help us get acclimated to our new, (new to us), aircraft before we flew...

Fix-A-Flat

Are there any reasons to not use an emergency tire inflation product like Fix-A-Flat on our aircraft? Last weekend I had a tailwheel tube fail at a grass strip with no facilities to assist my making the repair. Fortunatly, I wasn't far from my home base, and I had a cell phone with me, but what an i...
