Re: Zeftronics Regulator Approval (sp)
Interesting that the 35A version lists the 170 but the 20A version does not. I just bought new 20A generator at OH and would like to stick with it for now.

Re: Wiring in a SkyTech Starter in a '51 170A
Hi Scott, The STC instructions for the C12ST2 explain exactly how to wire the starter. SkyTec drawing 71001 specifies that the two wires from the push button get connected to the Starter "S" terminal and starter power terminal. Note that the STC does not require a starter relay. The relay ...

Zeftronics Regulator Approval (sp)
Has anyone received approval to install the Zeftronics G1200N regulator on their 170? https://www.zeftronics.com/shop/g1200n/ I need a new regulator and was thinking about going the solid state route. I called Zeftronics and the G1200N is the replacement for the Delco 1118736 that I have. However, t...

Re: Concorde Battery Charger
Thanks George. My CGR shows the buss voltage so I can use that for readings. My new charger just showed up so I'll make sure the battery is fully charged before.

Re: Concorde Battery Charger
George or others. I have read through the electrical service manual on adjusting the regulator and talked with my IA. I would like to measure the output voltage of the regulator. Is this done with the cowl off and engine running or do you just make small adjustments to the spring tension while the m...

Re: Concorde Battery Charger
Wouldn't an AGM charger work with a Concord RG battery? I have one of these already. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004LWVEKS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The reason I started all this is because my battery voltage is not holding up when I fly. I see a maximum of 13 volts when...

Re: Concorde Battery Charger
George, do you disconnect the battery from the aircraft bus when you charge or just connect it and go? The reason I ask is the Concord website documentation goes into great detail about how dangerous it is to change he the battery in the airplane. The just want to make sure I'm not overlooking somet...

Concorde Battery Charger
I would like to purchase a battery charger for my 170B. I have a Concord RG-25. Does anyone have any recommendation on chargers? I am looking at the BATTERYMINDER MODEL 128CEC1-AA-S5 which says it's recommended for Concord batteries. It is fairly expensive. http://www.batteryminders.com/batteryminde...

Re: New interior
I am just finishing up the installation of an Airtex kit on my plane. I purchased the wool headliner, carpet side panels, firewall cover and baggage compartment. It was nowhere neat $10K! 8O I agree with George. There is no such thing as a perfect snap in kit. You still have to do some trimming and ...

Re: Two Different Stabilizer Abrasion Boots
Hi Del. Thanks, I remember that post from earlier this year. I called YingLing and spoke to their parts guy. It sounds like both boots are still available. The 1235040-5 boot is a flat piece of rubber that you have to glue around the edge. The S1938-3-68.00 is the molded boot like you show in the pi...

Two Different Stabilizer Abrasion Boots
I know there are several threads on abrasion boots. I was looking at these two accessory kits and they each specify a different abrasion boot. Accessory Kit AK175-35V which says boot S1938-1-67.00 which has been superseded to S1938-3-68.00 http://www.cessnadirect.com/s1938-3-68-00.html $152 Accessor...

Re: Boroscope Ascendancy.. Webinar..New REq's for Engines
George what are you talking about. You can go the Continental Motors site and sign up for a login for FREE. Thats what I had to do for my serial number. The lady on the phone was really nice. Now I can access the docs and get email updates. Also, ATS had them on sale during Oshkosk for $170. Not su...

Maybe they brushed on too much insulation when they put it together I had mine tested and verified all the wires. It has been working fine ever since.

Re: First flight report and generator problem
Yeah. That is exactly what it is. We have never seen this happen before. I am going to call them tomorrow and ask about it. I had the generator tested here at a local shop and it was ok so I cleaned up everything and re installed it. I cleaned and checked the regulator using the C170 electrical manu...
