Re: Instrument Panel

I don't suppose anyone has a CAD file built for the floating panel, P/N 0513004-11? I would like to have a replacement for mine cut locally, but with the top center positions left uncut, in order to install a panel dock for my Garmin 396. I'd be willing to pay/give a donation for a copy of the file...

IA recommendations

Hello all,

It's almost time for the annual on '26C and I don't yet have my inspection authorization. Can anyone recommend an affordable IA in the Anchorage area?

Thanks.

Re: Horton STOL performance

Follow up to the start of this thread: After spending 30+ hours flying this bird, practicing stalls, slow flight, and short field landings, I can confirm that the airspeed indicator will in fact bottom out before she eases into a gentle stall. I've landed her as slow as 42mph in a slight crosswind w...

Re: Intercom suggestions

I have enjoyed the PSEngineering 1000 for a dozen years, but there are some newer units that incorporate Bluetooth and other features you might wish to consider with cordless headsets etc. I looked at this unit online. It's twice as much new as the Sigtronics, although buying it used takes a chunk ...

Intercom suggestions

Hello all. So, I've finally brought '26C home to Alaska, and it's time to start making a few changes. To start, I would like to install a 4 place intercom. Having no ashtrays, I think the best option for me would be to install the rear jacks behind the door frames, as some on here have discussed. Se...

Re: Continental Piston Alloy

The majority of piston engines use aluminum alloy heads threaded onto a steel barrel, which is nitrided or cyanide-ed on the inside. The c 145 fits this category. I'm pretty sure you misunderstood the question and are referring instead to cylinder construction. (Although some pistons have steel ins...

Re: L-19 Leaf spring installation

Thanks to all who posted relevant replies, especially to those of you with real data & experience to contribute. It's a lot of information to get into for such a seemingly little, albeit important detail. In the end, it seems that a combination of real-world experience in proper aircraft mainten...

Re: L-19 Leaf spring installation

........ Ultimately, I would like to know their basis for claiming a direct replacement for the above-mentioned springs. Their basis could be nothing more than their springs are the size that fits the airplane, who knows?, they are not saying. They have admitted there is no PMA on the L-19 bottom s...
