Re: Field Approval

gahorn, yea and three meals a day plus a library. I hear they won't let you read Kitplanes because they're afraid you'll build an airplane and escape.

Re: Field Approval

OK. I was working under the supervision of an AI, so I guess I'm covered. It was a long time ago and many brain cells have gone bye-bye since then (I didn't start out with that many, either). Thanks for the clarification. I sold that airplane in 2001 and it's still flying, so I guess I didn't hurt i...

Field Approval

I'm not sure where to post this because it's not really a C170-specific topic, so here goes. I was talking to my son tonight about some updates I made to the Stinson 108-2 I once owned. When I put a GPS/COMM unit in it (1999), I was trying to figure out where to place the GPS antennae. I looked abov...

Flying With Your Kids

I've seen several posts by folks with young kids. I highly recommend that you get a children's log book for each one. Besides the flight time and destination locations, it also has columns for airplanes they saw on the flight and their favorite part of the flight. I bought one for my son when he sta...

Re: Finally got my 170 home

Beautiful plane. Since I don't have mine (yet), I won't comment on the color, so it can't be used against me in the future.

Re: Hello

Dubya,

Give me a holler sometime when you're in Kenosha. I'll pick you up at the airport and show you the town. BTW, I once had a 1946 Aeronca 7AC converted to a 7CCM.

Re: Hello

Thanks, all. I saw Jay Baeten is the Director for Wisconsin and I was going to look him up and volunteer to help with a fly-in or whatever. Fortunately, my job regularly takes me throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota, so a detour to De Pere would be doable. I'll probably be reading the forums and the C...

Hello

Hi, everyone, I'm and new member of TIC170A and have got to say this is a great association and a fun forum. I'm not a 170 owner, yet, but when I was deciding on a Type I had several criteria: 1) taildragger, 2) 4 seats, 3) decent cross country and remote airfield capabilities, 3) historical lineage...
