Definitely not real! No one can paint lines that straight after drinking that much beer! Was that Pabst Blue Ribbon blue someone photoshopped onto that airplane?

Re: Incredible landings...
As a side note, I have seen Sean Tucker's maneuver where he makes a pass hanging on his prop... pretty incredible! But he has both wings and is cranking out an enormous amount of horsepower from his "highly modified Pitts" (I believe he is flying something else now but I'm not sure). Some ...

Re: Incredible landings...
C'mon guys... you've all been around long enough to know BS when you see it! Does that really look like a real airplane landing to you? Do a search on the name of the airplane (Killathrill). The other obvious hint is the guy immediately yelling out "Where's his right wing?" as if he could ...

DREMEL TOOL ADVENTURES
I was reading Robert Eilers post on Hero or Idiot and it made me think about my idiot adventure with a dremel tool yesterday. I needed to make a decorative plate for my new radio installation to hide the hole that was left from installing a smaller radio. I had some fiberglass stock leftover from my...

Re: Mag Troubles
That's funny. I now have that "starting tidbit" stored way back in the memory neurons in the "break glass for access to useful stuff when stranded" portion of my brain. I probably would have pulled the prop off trying to start my airplane in that situation! Thank your friend Bob ...

How does Cameron hold on to the yoke without opposable thumbs and can his feet reach the rudder pedals?

That George...
For those that think those little flaps on the A model don't provide lift... take'em off, strap them to yore arms, get in the back of yore buddies pickem'up truck, and when he gets it up to about 80, stick em out in the wind at a fifty degree angle!

Re: 1952 170B Interior panels
OK, sorry for the strong words. I hadn't had my morning coffee yet! Let me restate... "I am not as fond of the stylishly creative. yet extremely plush fabric interiors, that are in many of our airplanes". I actually thought about going without any panels at all and just going with z...

Re: 1952 170B Interior panels
It depends on what you are looking for. If you are going for originality then you don't need plastic panels. I for one didn't like either the pimpish looking fabric interior or the plastic panels, and wasn't going for original. I went with the long wearing and repairable fiberglass panels that selki...

Re: 1952 170B Interior panels
Try selkirk aviation. Their panels are fiberglass and hold up much better than the plastic interiors. I put their interior in my airplane and have been very happy with it. The kit and stc is a little over $2k.

Now Now, George. Be careful, there might be some amish pilots lurking here! I wonder if they have horse drawn airplanes?

This is why it is always a good idea for a quick preflight brief, in addition to the required passenger safety brief, covering a few safety of flight issues and general attitude of the flight. One thing that is a common crew concept is the "NO" vote, one "NO" overules in an abnor...

John, isn't one of the golden rules for instructors to not let the student ever, ever put you into a nonrecoverable regime. While 600' isn't very high to recover from a student initiated spin, it is plenty to recover from the stall that might begin to happen first. At 200' a student initiated stall ...
