Congrats on the new plane Bill!
Small world... I have family in Wetumpka... an Aunt and several cousins. I keep saying I'm going to fly down for a visit. Maybe we should have a fly-in.

Internal Latch Type Bag Door Mod
I guess I haven't seen enough baggage doors to be well educated... or maybe I haven't paid close attention to them when I see them. So with this "internal latch" door, do you have to reach around inside to open it?

Awesome Preston! Remember the next time you come this way that at least three members are in Murfreesboro..... we like visitors too.Pdogace wrote:I know this is a old thread but I really love it. We loaded up the family and flew from Stuart Fl to Nashville TN for thanksgiving.

Re: ECI Cermi-Nil Cylinder Breakdown
My issue was aluminum in the oil. It was at least one piston pin plug (or is it a cap?)...... I got all new pistons and rings at 50 hours and it solved the problem. 520 hours on it now with no further issues. Keith

And your basis for approval for serial numbers 20267 and later is right there in the TCDS:
Wing Flaps
All Serials S/N 20267 and up eligible
Takeoff
Retracted
0°
1st Notch
10°
2nd Notch
20°
Landing
3rd Notch
30°
4th Notch
40°
Note: S/N 20267 through 26504 were delivered without the 10° Notch.

I'm guessing the post was in the Trademart .... I just realized that the Trademart posts are automatically deleted when they are 6 months old so that explains why you can't find it. Send canav8 a private message if he doesn't respond to you here. He was the seller. FWIW I bought one and it is very w...

Re: ADS B
For those of you who haven't seen it, and I had not until a couple of weeks ago, this is what the FAA can see with just your N number using ADS-B. I had emailed the FAA with a question about applying for the ADS-B rebate. I was a little surprised when they emailed me back with this picture and a com...

Re: B.A.S. Inertia-Reel Shoulder Harness
I have the utility type and prefer them. I do think they will make it easier to extricate oneself in the event of an emergency. I personally don't like the permanently attached type as they tend to hang on the shoulder even during normal egress. I can't imagine hanging upside down from them trying t...

Re: ADS B
Agreed.
I only made the move because my old transponder died earlier this year. In a way I wish I had installed a cheap transponder for now and waited on the ADS-B out installation.

Re: ADS B
For what it's worth... the rebate for ADS-B is over. I missed it by two days. Sucky thing for me is that during the last two weeks I was involved in an email exchange with the FAA guy regarding my unit which needed a software update. I followed his instructions, got the update, then emailed him back...

Re: ForeFlight Scout
I was able to try my Foreflight with Scout for the first time this morning. A little background.. my new Garmin 335 ADS-B compliant transponder had a problem in that it was reportedly showing that it was airborne even when it was on the ground. Turns out it needed a software update even though it wa...

Re: Tow Bars
I'm planning to go to a local supply house and just take a look at the tubing to decide what I think is strong enough. I see an on-line outlet offers it in various gauges and 3/16 and 1/4 wall thickness. I'm not overly concerned about it being too heavy as it will have wheels so I'm leaning toward a...
