Any Florida club members ?

are there any florida club members who could provide a place for me to stay for a few days in december ? You wouldn't have to entertain me, just a place to sleep . I could repay the favor by sharing my home in minnesota , even let you fly my 170B with 220 HP Franklin on floats all around our lakes a...

Question on 180 hp conversion

To the best of my knowledge , Edo 2440 floats are only approved for the 170B converted to 220 hp Franklin . They are modified Military Bird dog floats . Bigger floats sound good , but over-coming the weight and drag takes more horsepower than 220. Andrew

Kent, my Franklin is 220 HP. I have 2 170B's with Franklin 220 , both are great airplanes. I like the 220 hp Franklin alot . They are both reliable and smooth running. I think the people who hate Franklins probably got that from old Stinsons or Seabees. They are antiques just like Cont and Lycomings...

I'm not sure I have the fastest , but mine will cruise at 135 MPH . I don't even know what wide open straight and level is ( I'll check that sometime soon ). I can't think of anything special that I did to it to make it so fast , with the exception of it says " FRANKLIN " on my engine. :ro...

yes , to the best of my knowledge , you need the lower ventral fin when it is on 2440 floats . Can I ask where did you get the 220 hp Franklin from ? Andrew
