Had a guy come into the hangar one spring day as we were working on planes. The pilot comes in and says he needs a hand..."sure, whatcha got?" He then proceeds to point out the window to a perfectly framed Cessna 150 flipped over on it's back alongside the runway! Didn't even squish the sp...

They are listed in Univair 170 parts manual (not with me right now) and I bought new springs from Cessna when I recovered my wings a few years ago.

O-300-B gen to alt conversion

Has anyone done the Barnstormers STC on a O-300-B engine? My understanding is that the STC does not cover it, but has anyone gotten a field approval for it? And if so, when did you do it...recently? or a while ago?

Thanks...

Dave, that's a good idea. Never thought of that. I'll set my engineering team onto that this winter and see where I get.

Thanks,

I've bought two batteries for KX-99 units from Batteries America and have had good experience with them. I didn't know Honeywell still repaired the units. Maybe I'll get them fixed now that I went and bought two ICOM handhelds....figures...

Weighed my ragwing when purchased Sept 1996. After wing recover, installing shoulder harness STC (WagAero) and installing Whelen wingtip strobes, new carpet, removing all radios but for Garmin 300XL and King KT76A, my empty weight is 1368 lbs. as of Sept 2004.

My 1948 ragwing has two sets of gearboxes....one the "original" set where the main gear is...and another set still under the floor from the Met-Co-Aire nosewheel configuration. Nothing like carrying around spare parts! Unfortunately the rear gear boxes block access to re-install the cabin ...

Bruce,

Glad to see someone take longer to do a wing recover! Mine took 2.5 years (engine is the next project).

Hope to see you at Lock Haven. My 170 will be the baggage car for two Cubs (a J3C-90 and a PA18-90).

I think if you flip around in The 170 Book you will find the templates for engine intake covers. I made a set for mine and use them for our cold Maine winters. However, it's still not warm enough in the cabin for me to fly below 35F! I don't cover the heater intake on the left side (inboard). We use...

PES is an embroidery format for the Babylock and Brother machines. I use the PE-Design software from Brother to digitize some airplanes. I traced out the 170 from inside my POH and started with that. I make hats and shirts with my company name on them, plus do some stuff for the local 99s chapter. I...

Yup, got one, it's a 170, I've got it white/red in three point parking position. Digitized it myself out of the POH.

What model machine you got?
