I'm using 172 seats in my '52 170B and ran into the same installation problem. I solved the problem by removing the front outbound roller bracket from the seat, placed the seat on the rail in the normal manner and then reinstall the front bracket. For wht it's worth.

Weighed my '52B after complete rebuild and restoration and came up with 1348 lbs.
