Re: Oil quick drain issue
Interesting Puzzle - Deserves an explanation. One thought to explore may be the engine mount itself. The engine block and engine support. Have they been married for fifty years ? Engine mounts get Rebuilt, usually a one up rebuild from custom jigs at a custom shop. Who is Reading the ruler? Bruce ha...

Operations Manual for C 170
I have a small 5 x7 Booklet that came with the 1954 C170B.
Can that be termed the Operations Manual for the C170?
Is that all there is to instructional documentation.
What about supplemental releases ?
Something seems vague.

Re: Pre purchase advice in PHX area
Locate an AP/IA outside the area. You are searching for expert opinion. Send copies of Logs /pertinent records - Your outside guy studies then - emails questions. You pay Expenses for OS Guy to fly to PHX. Do hands on evaluation. Purchase the airplane. Many early aircraft are flying museum artifacts...

Re: Oil quick drain issue
You gave a few clues. Replacing engine crankcase halves is major. Does your current engine still have the orig data number plate attached? I will hazard a guess as to what may have happened. The split halves of crankcase were milled flat because of slight fretting. Then the halves were joined and an...

Re: Hybrid Flight C170
I used to love the smell of 80 Octane fuel burning. Just what my engine was designed to consume.
Think we were promised a Direct replacement. Did that happen?

Re: CPP100-2 fuel drain valve
Your correct part is out there some place.. Superseded parts numbers are a pain in the intellect. Cessna and its Vendors found a way to sell off inventory of NOS parts from A/C models ceased production. Very smart list price at that time frame. I have purchased arcane NOS parts from puzzling locatio...

Electric flight 10X times cheaper. Not my words Just viewed tesla fans Now You Know - they stated 4X times cheaper. The denisity of Lithium carries more Charge. Weight of batteries probably influenced the tail dragger design - If I ever fly in ALICE at 400 mph I want to be served Salad!

Double digit order for purchase of ALICE. Pure Electric flight, Nice looking airplane. 9 passengers short flights. Flight dista...

Re: Augmentation System Boeing 737 MAX 8 WHY?
It is simply an idiom
"Take your eye off the ball." - a failure could result.
Has a modern expectation of advanced technology caused Commerce to take it's eye off the ball?

Re: How to install seat belts
There is a lot of seat belt knowledge on this forum. Just had the BAS inertial seat belts installed in N2890C 2 wks ago. Took a lot ribbing on auto purchase half a century ago. Purchased the darling of the showroom, dealer delayed delivery. 1964 Cadillac Coupe Deville; first car delivered w factory ...

Flush riveted 170 Wings
Surely the question has asked before. Curiosity. 35 years ago I think I heard of some one rebuilding C170 and C172 wings as flush riveted. Is this still feasible? What would be the results? Could one use a std C170 wing rib, convert it to counter sunk configuration w/o having to build a new rib? Wat...

Avionics Upgrade
Really where should we discuss Avionics Pilot Lounge or Hanger? I have an ancient Nav/Com that could stand replacing. It works but looks old. Did I hear that VORs are going to be decommissioned? It is a GENAVE 200 Nav/Com. Heard they hog the batt. Don't want to fund GARMIN Glass at this point. What ...
