Jasco Alternator Repair

Anyone know of a shop to have a Jasco alternator repaired? All the big shops point me towards Quality Aircraft Accessory out of Tulsa Oklahoma. Only problem with that is they will only offer a bench test and exchange, no repair. My alternator is making voltage just fine but has developed and sequel ...

Re: Fuel Distribution

Well Guys, Since the conversation always comes back to the fuel caps, I went ahead and ordered two new vented caps. I really couldn't find anything wrong with my old ones. I'm cautiously optimistic at this point I installed the caps and flew her a half hour today, and the fuel system was acting norm...

Re: Fuel Distribution

OK, since you have confirmed the center vent is open to both tanks, they should be getting equal pressure while flying. Are your gas caps venting both ways or just vent into the tank to break the vacuum created by using fuel out of the tank? You need to check each one. It now sounds like the left t...

Re: Fuel Distribution

It has the center vent, both fuel caps are vented. Early last year we replaced the rubber hose's on the vent line. It is very unusual, with my previous experience with this AC. The right tank gets so full the gauge doesn't even bounce around. A strange sight.

Re: Fuel Distribution

The aux tank does tie into the right side, it has a check valve and a tee. I have removed the tank and capped the line. Hmm.. Well I'll just keep flying her then, thanks guys!

Re: Fuel Distribution

Yes Ed, in level flight with the ball centered. Bruce it has certainly always drained a little unevenly. But never to this degree.

Fuel Distribution

After several months of scratching our heads, I must ask for help.. (I must state no previous issue's to date with in almost a year of owning) In October on an 1 hour flight I just happen to notice the right tank fuel gauge was pegged fuel and the left was half empty. After landing at my destination...

Re: O-300A Engine Baffles

I had discovered several broken baffle parts, myself and my IA just made copy's from the others. It was fairly quick and a lot easier than I had expected. I think he ended up charging me like thirty bucks. One could make a paper template, and just transfer on the some aluminum with out to much diffi...

Re: Wheel Landings 170

I'm still a relativity new driver with around 75hrs in the 170. I still have bounces on both 3 point and wheelies occasionally, especially when I'm trying to hit a spot. Occasionally everything comes together just right. My best landing (shortest) to date just happened to get caught on film. https:/...

Re: ADF Removal

I just removed mine, it had the square one on the bottom like yours and a cloths hanger that ran the length of the fuse on top. If coarse now I day dream about what goodies can go in that spot empty space.

Re: My first Annual and Weight and Balance

I think at some point I'm going to reweigh it with different scales, maybe next year. I still think that number is too low. But as of now it's the best number I have to go off of.

Re: My first Annual and Weight and Balance

I weighed it with the tanks full and subtracted 37 gals, 6 qts of oil, and 6lbs of wheel pants. We were both scratching our heads, as the scales are certified aircraft scales. We double checked everything was tare'd correctly, and triple checked the math. 1214 is the number we got over and over with...

My first Annual and Weight and Balance

My mechanic and I have just finished up my first annual and a new weight and balance. We removed quite a bit of old/unused stuff requiring a new W/B. The annual went great only finding a broken muffler support rod, and it's the last year for my seat tracks, and new brake pads were required. I saved ...
