The fuel hawk dipstick I asked about is the same one George Horn recommended in that link mentioned by lowNslow, only the price has increased by
about 30%. Apparently cutting it off at the zero mark compensates for the 170's 3 point attitude.

Fuel dipstick
I seem to recall reading a recommendation for a fuel dipstick for 170s that involved cutting off the bottom end at the zero mark.
I see Spruce sells these: FUELHAWK CESSNA 172 19 GALLON FUEL GAUGE Has anybody tried one of these for the 170?

Re: panel hole
I've found a use for that empty hole. I'm going to fill it
with a picture of Lauren Graham, star of The Gilmore Girls.

Re: panel hole
I've got a '50A and a '52B. Getting ready to sell the A. I think they both have that hole.
Apparently it was for an adjustment knob for the DG - thanks.

My instrument panel in the 170B has a hole about 3/4" in diameter
below the center instrument. Can somebody tell me what that
hole was originally for? Thanks!

Differences between A and B models
I'm sure this has been addressed somewhere on the site, but I had no
luck finding it with the search function. If somebody could show me
where to find a listing of all the differences I'd appreciate it.

Re: caliper location
I wonder why someone would mount the calipers on the front? If these old planes could only talk!

My 170A has the brake calipers located to the rear of the gear leg, but I recently
saw a picture of a 170B that has them on the front of the gear leg. Surely that
wasn't changed between models. Which is correct?

toe-in
Hi all - I just bought a 1950 170A and am trying a post for the first time. I have a question about wheel alignment. I understand the goal is zero camber and zero toe in with the plane loaded and on greased plates. I'm wondering is it OK to do this with the tail wheel on the floor or should it be do...
