Carburetor Repair Kit

My mechanic (who is elderly and hates the internet) wants me to get a carburetor repair kit for my airplane. From the carb manual I see that part #16-696 should be the gasket kit, and I see that chief aircraft has it for $39.65. Anybody have any input on this? The problem we are attacking is that on...

Re: spark plug recommendations

Bruce,

I tried to get to the Bethel flyin a few weeks ago on the Sunday when it quit raining. I made it to the mountain to the north of the field and it was raining/grey solid IFR over the field so I had to turn back.

No cat smell whatsoever. Actually I wish there was, and then maybe the old mice smell of which I scrubbed out would be cancelled some more.

Small Tricks for Window, Dash Bezels, and hubcaps

Here are a few tricks we used to fix a few things on our 1952 C170B.... 1. Window Hinge Pin - One of the window hinge latches rivet was broken. We fixed this with two barrel nuts and a peice of thread. (maybe a bolt with head cut off) (Your hardware store carries barrel nuts that are flush on the en...

Re: Headliner Installation

Checklist

Does anybody have a checklist typed up? I started to create one from the manual and figured somebody has already typed this up. Using the search function I found a link to one that no longer exists. If you can save me some typing I would greatly appreciate it, if not I will be donating a copy to the...

Thanks all, I suspected it was wrong. Not sure how I am going to tackle this yet, but thanks for the advice.
