Hineywheel Bill Like your name had to think for 1/2 moment; You want to be ID as a Tail dragger pilot as in conventional gear. Noted you aircraft S.N. so close to mine. S.N.26433 N2890C. SSN & C170 S.N. are memory items. Have to look up my wife's birthday. Age is a sensitive subject for some folks

Otis I hope you have not paid the Final Bill on this overhaul. Have you tried to fit your cowling on the engine? If the engine is 1/2" shorter there may be serious fitment issues w the nosecone. I am sorry that this has happened to you. All of us would like to see you flying your C170 very soon.

From a comment your shop made about a slight geometrical difference.
Is this newly rebuilt engine utilizing the same block "Case Halves" or did shop provide "NEW" case halves that have never been in your aircraft?
