After I rebuilt my 0300A I ran it between 2500 & 2700 rpm for the first 10 hrs.and then headed for Kelowna. On the trip I averaged 6.87 gph @ 2400 rpm @ between 6000 to 8500 asl and used just over 1 qt of oil in 38 hours round trip. Greg

1311D Flys Again

Here are some pics of 11D. The early pics are scanned from photos, before I owned a digital camera. I bought 11D in 1996, in pieces. Didn't work on it for a few years after. I flew it for the first time 6-1-06, have a little over 4 hrs on it now. Good to be back it the air. Its not the destination i...

Corey, Almost every time I go to ANC I do the Merrill Fd driveby, haven't seen any 170's with the cowl removed. I hear that AK 170's are so dependable that you never have to work on them...... Greg

You don't have to look very far to find photos of the outside of a 170 but nobody seams to have photos of what keeps the old birds in the air. Greg

I am installing a new 0300A and a pressure cowl on my 170A. I bought it as a project that was disassembled with no engine or cowl. I need a little help in the form of some detailed pictures of an engine compartment that shows routing and hold downs of wiring, lines, hoses, cables and baffling ect. T...

I was about to buy a Door Steward, but sounds like i might reconsider. Anybody have any experence with them e...
