Re: Sprung gear leg
I have another question. If the the pilot side gear leg is sprung, would this cause the plane to pull to the left on takeoff on pavement? I don't notice it very much on grass but its a bit of a hand full on the pavement. It starts to happen right as the plane is starting to develop lift. Would the p...

Sprung gear leg
Hello everyone, I just got my 1949 C-170A back from an annual inspection. I let the mechanic know before the inspection I had a concern about the plane not sitting level. The mechanic told me I have a sprung gear leg. I thought the one leg looked a little off. I have the P Ponk kit installed, is the...

Re: 1949 170A flaps
I checked out my flaps and found the J shaped bracket with the two holes that bolts to the side is missing on both sides. is this a part I can still find? Or would it have to be fabricated by an A&P mechanic? Thanks, Don

1949 170A flaps
I've recently purchased a 1949 Cessna 170A. A friend of mine also has a 1949. His flaps lock in the up position mine do not. if the wind is blowing from behind it will blow then down and they will spring back up, is something wrong with my flaps?
Thanks, Don
Thanks, Don

1948 Cessna 170 rudder cables
Hello all and Happy Fourth of July! Last week, while I was taking a lesson in a 170A, on our first landing, halfway up the field, we lost our left rudder - the cable felt like it broke. We lost control of the plane and did a mild groundloop. My instructor thought that I was pressing on the pedal, an...
