I wish it was that easy.........Mine knocks with the cowl on or off.......I was talking to a well trusted engine builder here in Tennessee and he listened to the engine and said he didnt here anything unusual......He has been working on engines for a long long time........I think he did an overhaul ...

I ordered my longer push rods for that cyl. They should be in any day now......I sure hope that makes a diff. Im not sure it will in my case since the play was within limits......I am going to go fly tomorrow and see if thing quiet down on this next flight, but I would imagine the tapets would be pu...

We just pulled the Cyl. back just enough to get to the tappets.....I am hopeing that the oil is just from some oil that spilled when we were doing all of the work. I am going to wipe all of the oil up and fly it tomorrow and see if I have any more oil around.

about how long........I was out of town...but my dad went out there for me...they ran the engine up twice once at idle and the next time from idle to 1500 rpm.....a total run of about 5 minutes each........I was wondering if I just need to take it up flying for about 30 min to 1 hour and see what ha...

No. We pulled the Cyl. back just enough to get to the lifters. We then used a small piece of safety wire to grab the lifter an pull it out.

I had a mech come out an listen to the noise. We pulled the cowl off and started up the plane. The Mech. used a stethascope lookin thing and listend to all of the cyl. He noticed that the #5 was making alot of knocking noise. We pulled off the valve cover and noticed the rocker arm on the intake val...
