Re: Elevator cable routing
My son and I just did elevator and rudder cable routing the other day. The IPC picture gave us grief and we would have been better off without it. The forward bellcrank for the elevator is shown backward. It had us muffed up for awhile.

Re: Chartreuse
Would my Male Hormones allow me to have a " Chartreuse" airplane ? I think Not. I saw a Pink Comanche parked on the ramp one day, I prayed it belonged to a cute girl.

Re: Continental C-145 Prop very tight on shutdown.?!
I have seen this problem 2 times in the past. Exactly as you describe. Both times it was the piston pin plugs rubbing tightly on the cylinder wall. Why a pressed-in pin pushes out and drags that hard still puzzles me , but it does happen. On one cylinder it wore a groove about .006 deep. Aluminum we...

Re: Air bubble of doom in gascolator!
Wow , you got me curious about this one. Let's see , hummmm , a tried and true fuel system that has worked for decades . Not experimental. The only thing that I have seen is many years ago I used to have an Ercoupe , same type fuel system. Head of fuel from the tank down to a glass bowl gasculator a...

Re: Reason 1 why Franklin engines are Awesome.
Well it looks like "Reason 127" does not apply to me. I have taken off my starter and mags without any trouble. Maybe your engine mount was built too short. And I don't know what the other " 126 reasons " are , but for me , both my 170B's with 220 HP Franklins have been Great Eng...

Re: Hot Starts
Most of the time when I give rides and I know that I will restart in just a few minutes , as I taxi in I have the engine at idle power , then I shut it off with the key. Now the fuel mixture is still perfect and when I hit the starter , it pops off in less than one revolution. I have done this for y...

Re: 31" bush tires on cessna 170b
I have my 170B on 31" tires for a few years now. They are better than skis in the winter. Also , a good safety item if a forced landing occurred. Once , I put my little 8.50's back on and my plane lost all it's character. Back off they came. Whew ! 31" is the only one for me. Andrew

Re: Some flying pics from this Saturday
I too was flying this last weekend. The frozen lakes here in central Minnesota have only 1 inch of snow on them. This means that there is 10,000 runways to choose from.

Hey Marathonrunner , not to be overly-overly nit picky , but is it " Dick" or is it "Deck " ? Maybe go back to the "Hanger" and figure that out.
