Thank you for the 337 link. That is exactly what my mechanic was looking for prior to learning that the Association’s STC is applicable to “lady legs.” I appreciate your willingness to share the work you had to put in to get your installation approved.

Re: Lady Legs on an A model
Bruce, thanks for the clarification. With my limited exposure to these issues, I tend to agree with classifying this one as a minor alteration. It is a CYA world we live in, particularly in avaiation, and I’m glad there is a simple solution. This whole process has been a little bit of a struggle but...

Re: Lady Legs on an A model
Thank you everyone again. I’m still new to aircraft ownership and this has been very educational. What a wealth of knowledge on this site! I’m going with Gary and Richard’s suggestion of using the STC. Seems like a no brainer to keep everything clean and legal.

Re: Lady Legs on an A model
Thank you for the quick reply Gary. I’m currently traveling and don’t have access to part numbers of the Lady Legs. I was under the impression the Association held the STC for the installation of 180 gear on the 170. However, if this STC is usable for Lady Legs as well, it would certainly make thing...

Lady Legs on an A model
Based on a search, I realize this topic has been covered somewhat in the past, but… I’m currently in the process of having the original A model landing gear swapped out to “lady legs.” The A&P I’m working with wants to go through the 337 process and says the FAA is more open to accept it if it h...

IA in Phoenix area
Hello all,
I finally put down a deposit on an A model in the Phoenix area. Is there anyone on here who can recommend a local IA familiar with 170s to perform an annual/pre-purchase inspection? The aircraft is hangared in Deer Valley (KDVT). Thank you,
Erik

Re: Mechanic in Dallas
Thank you for the information...I will give them a call. I already joined the Association several months ago in preparation for a 170 purchase.

Mechanic in Dallas
Hi,
Not sure if this is in the correct section, but if anyone can recommend a mechanic familiar with the 170 in the Dallas, TX area for a possible pre-purchase inspection, I'd appreciate a PM or an email at weiszmann (at) hotmail. com.
Thanks,
Erik

Re: Hello from Southern New Hampshire
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I just got back from flying a Citabria (a lot different from my day job flying an Airbus) working on my tailwheel proficiency. If I may ask, any suggestions on getting instruction in a 170? I haven't been able to find one for rent anywhere. For insurance purp...

Hello from Southern New Hampshire
Hi all, I'm a brand new member of the Association from Bedford, NH (just outside of Manchester, NH). I'm not yet privileged enough to own a C-170 but I'm actively looking so hopefully it won't be too much longer. If there are any local members who might be interested in meeting up, I'd love pick you...
