Re: Panel legality question

Thanks for all the responses. I'm trying to not get any member here in trouble. I like what they did and would like to follow suit. Good advice about changing technologies. I was even thinking of keeping the center section of the dash in tact, not curtting the square home for the iPad and just havin...

Panel legality question

I've seem some 170 panels that have had space cut out to mount an iPad.
How much of the panel can be modified for such a thing? What instruments will need to be maintained?
And Is the paperwork just a form 337?

Thx

Re: Fuel gauge gaskets 1954

Only dumb questions are the ones not asked...

Here is mine. How low does the fuel in the tanks have to be to remove the gauge? So I don't create a volatile mess.

Re: Flying Phonomena

The plan was to fly over Japan and go up through Russia. But the tsunami had just happened and he couldn't get permission to fly over. He was forced to put the airplane in a container and had it shipped to the west coast of Canada. I suspect he will do the flight again to close the gap.

So the previous owner just send me a gift....
A STOL kit from Stene Aviation.
Now just have to determine if it's worth installing or ebaying.

Re: White Paint Yellowed

I've used the Caliper paint for years. It holds up almost as good as Powdercoating. And fries fast.
The problem is the limited colors it comes in. White is hard to find.

Re: Air Asia Loss of Control

Pilot training is the key. The 777 crash in San Fran never would have occurred if the pilots actually knew what they were doing. Perhaps we need a new system of logging flight time. The sitting at 35,000 with autopilot on for 8 hours isn't real experience. It's not like doing 4 legs and 4 CATII appr...

Not to stir up the pot, but isn't there still a missing 777 out there?

Re: No tailwheel needed.

Has anyone used the 3400 Tailwheel? Seems the pole instead of the leaf springs would be more secure.
2 bolts instead of 1 holding that one on.
