Re: Looking for reasonably priced 531211 & 537466 through bo

I'm also in the process of overhauling my engine and was planning on reusing the through bolts until I saw this thread. I haven't seen anywhere in the overhaul manual that says these must be replaced. My A&P couldn't find it either. Where is this published?

Re: Shunt (auto-reset breaker for T&B and Stall warn)

It took me a while to figure out that I can't attach images, so here is a link to the PNG version on my Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1v4mFH1GxHIx4LwKjY3eieCanmiUebcrO/view?usp=sharing Hope it gives you some ideas. I like the idea of doing all LED panel lights. I'd love to see how yo...

Re: Shunt (auto-reset breaker for T&B and Stall warn)

Man, I'm hearing echos from 2 years ago when I did the same thing to my plane. I removed the panel, cleaned up all the junk wiring and abandoned crap, traced back everything to its place and relanded it all on its proper breaker, removed the ADF, cut a new panel and generally overhauled the whole da...

Re: Spin Training — Seeking Advice

Last month a friend who is working on getting his licence was having trouble feeling confident doing stalls in his 170A, so when I was out dinkin' around with a camera running, I decided to demonstrate a falling leaf stall. After a bit of that, I decided to kick in some left rudder and let it fall i...

Re: Drawing of instrument panel

I have a cad file of the panel. It's not my creation but a member of BackcountryPilot gave it to me. I'm sure he wouldn't mind if I passed it along. I never used it as I was able to make my own panel using templates and trial fit and error. Do you have a preferred data transfer method? Dropbox, Driv...

Re: Drone Day

Wow you guys are a bunch of old fuddy duddies. Can't we all just get along? R/C was part of a natural progression in my passion for flying. The flying bug bit me hard when I was a little kid. I started folding paper, then my mom bought a kit trainer and old radio from a garage sale. It was all I cou...

Re: prop bolts

Per Chap 14, (Propeller) 100 series Service Manual: Torque SIX bolts to 55-65 ft lbs. Torque EIGHT bolts to 250 IN lbs. (21 ft lbs) This could be on a Lycoming. Continentals, C-145 and 0-300 at least don't use nylon lock nuts on the back of the prop flange. And if so I'd be checking other sources f...

Re: Landing Gear Box: Where can i buy two and how to install

You might call up Stoots Aviation in Fairbanks. He has been doing tailwheel conversions on 172/175s using new 180 gearbox, 180 gear legs, and P-ponk kits. He must have a source for the parts, perhaps you can convince him to share.
