Re: SK210-175A Co-Pilot Secondary Seat Stop Instructions

Many thanks Gary. I've now submitted my registration and I'm waiting for Cessna to complete it. I guess it takes them a day or two to get back to me. BTW, shortly after I bought my 170B this past September, I thought about whether I needed to notify Cessna in any way, and I tried to check out custom...

Re: SK210-175A Co-Pilot Secondary Seat Stop Instructions

Thanks Gary. But that's the service bulletin, not the installation instructions. It says that the installation instructions are supposed to be included with the kits, but the kits do not include them. The pilot side kit instructions are in the MX library, but not the co-pilot side.

SK210-175A Co-Pilot Secondary Seat Stop Instructions

By any chance does anyone have a copy of the installation instructions for the co-pilot/passenger side Cessna secondary seat stop kit (SK210-175A)? Like the pilot side kit, the co-pilot side kit does not include the instructions, and I've given up trying to get them from my nearest Cessna service ce...

Re: Flexible Oil Pressure Line

Per Del's suggestion, I contacted Precision Hose Technology about a flexible version of the oil pressure gauge line. (My '52B still has the old copper line on it.). I just off the phone with them, and they were very helpful. He said that Sratoflex 193 is the only option, as it is the only -2 hose av...

Yea, I think he might qualify as one of their prime targets.

I think he should respond to the email you received George, and then he can let us know what happens. For research purposes, of course, since he's the most qualified.

Re: Wonderful Generous Folks in Nigeria

I suspect that you would need a heck of a lot of folks to respond at the same time. And then the spammers would just change their address and mass email the spam again.

Re: Wonderful Generous Folks in Nigeria

I used to work with some folks in the cyber-security field that advised companies on data breaches. I understand from them that you continue to see these scams because they actually work. And they are more sophisticated than you might think. There have been a number of studies on them, including one...

Re: 180 Gear vs Lady Legs

I just got off the phone with Steve at P. Ponk, who was very helpful. Here's his explanation: The P. Ponk gear mod blocks were designed to allow for a later switch to thicker gear legs, such as 180 legs, without any reduction in the strength of the blocks. At the time you switch to thicker legs, you...

Re: 180 Gear vs Lady Legs

Ryan, thanks for that link. It's very helpful. From it, I looks like (at least nominally) the original legs ("The Early 170 Gear") are 5/8" thick but the lady legs ("The Late 170B Gear") and the early 180 legs are 11/16" thick. But the ranges of all three versions overl...

Re: 180 Gear vs Lady Legs

My '52 B model has its original legs and I am considering the P-Ponk mod. I don't want to re-open the P-Ponk mod debate as I understand how it is installed and works, and the debate has been thoroughly aired in this thread and others. However, I have a question about the P-Ponk mod that relates to t...

Re: Tailwheel Assy ATTACH bolts/nuts

I need to change the main spring on my '52 B model (with a Scott 3200). So Del, I'm particularly interested in how you correct the side-to-side movement shown in your videos, whether with shims or otherwise. In the meantime, I have a related question. When I change the main spring, I'm going to chan...

Re: Recommended Modifications/Repairs for 170 Owners

It appears that the L-19 tail wheel eye bolt has come back down in price. I just purchased and received one from Air Repair for $21 plus postage. Not the cheapest bolt you can purchase, but less than the $40 someone mentioned it was going for a few years ago.

Re: Heath Strobe Radio Noise

It was installed in 1975 via a 337. I just checked the history of 23.1401. The version in effect on 8/10/71 required coverage of at least 30 deg above and below the horizontal plane. It was not changed to at least 75 deg above and below the horizontal plane until 9/1/77. So I guess the install was l...

Re: Heath Strobe Radio Noise

I didn't think that direct replacement was an option without losing my "grandfather" status with the current strobe. In other words, I thought that if I replaced it with a different belly strobe (even though it is a modern equivalent), I would then need to comply with the current regs for ...
