Do you have an ABI tail wheel? does it shimmy?

Hey guys, Ive been meaning to post about this for a while. I bought an Alaska bush wheel 3200 tail wheel (Scott 3200 copy). It shimmied since day one. I did bunch of reading and figured I needed a new tail wheel spring, I then used the Scott install instructions to align the tail wheel. With all the...

Re: Carbon fiber wheel pants

thanks for the info, my 170 is painted, I'm have no interest in polishing them. I am running 800 tires now, I only go in and out of nice grass strips and paved runways so I have no need for the larger tire. my winter project will be the CF pants. I'm going to order them today. Thanks again

Carbon fiber wheel pants

has any one purchased the carbon fiber wheel pants? There was a guy selling them for the 120,140,170s. they appear to be exact copies of the original wheel pants. I'm considering buying a set as I don't need to have polished metal ones.

Re: Keeping the cowl inspection doors closed!!

it is an air oil separator, its always had it so ive left it alone ill take a few more pics next time the cowl is off. The big thing that changed from old engine to new engine was all new baffling that seals way better then the old warn baffle.

Keeping the cowl inspection doors closed!!

I recently installed a freshly overhauled engine with new baffling (non plenum style). Since then, my inspection doors have been trying to open in flight. I've looked at remedies for this issue: extra latches; screws and metal tabs on the cowl ; various other ways to keep the doors closed. However, ...
