Did your airplane just have the droop tips, or does it have a complete STOL kit installed? If the tips are part of an STC'd STOL kit, then I believe you have to replace the droop tips with identical ones to be legal with the STC.

A friend of mine rebuilt his Scott 3200. By the time he finished, he had almost as much invested as a new one would have cost, and he still has an old tailwheel. As previously stated, you'll be better off replacing the tailwheel now that the tailwheel and rudder skins, or worse, later.
