Re: Funny Taildragger Poem

Thanks for posting. It was good for some chuckles. No ground loops but the rest...been there, done that.

Re: Arkansas Back Country Flying

I apologize for my lack of responses...Just a busy weekend for me and never got a chance to reply. Thanks for the very kind remarks everyone. John, When I first seen that panel I wasn't really sure what I had. I liked the look but it finally dawned on me what material that was. Jim, Thank ya sir. I'...

Re: Arkansas Back Country Flying

Frank, Thanks for the kind offer to let me bring my Sedan to the 170 events. I didn't figure I would get booted out as long as I was supporting. You all are a great group of guys and I miss getting to associate with you at the conventions. The Cody one will be very difficult to pass up on as ...

Re: Arkansas Back Country Flying

Frank, I will likely get some disappointing looks but I have found a plane but it's not a 170. I ended up with a 48 Aeronca Sedan. Different and a fair bit slower with a small learning curve with no flaps but right now I'm loving just being back in the air. I miss the flaps on landing but for any re...

Arkansas Back Country Flying

Folks, I should have passed this info along several months ago. If it has already been posted here I apologize. Arkansas backcountry flying has picked up a lot over the past couple years and here are a couple links you might find interesting. https://www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2018/january...

Can a B Model be slipped at a less than 40 degree?

I get the idea of why I can't slip a B model at 40 degree of flaps but as I understand it this rule only applies to the 40 degree setting...correct? Can I not slip a B model at 0-30 degree of flaps? You might ask why would you when you have the 40 degree setting. Just because I can (maybe) and it wo...

I am surely glad it is and I am hopeful that it treats you well until you can get yours back from the rebuild shop.

Re: 2836C's Last Flight

Justin, just thinking about you, hope you're having a bit of success in the hunt. Jim, I sincerely appreciate the thoughts. I did promise an update after everything settled down and the insurance business was done. No complaints with Avemco. They paid me my full insured hull value with no arguments...

Re: Loss of a TX Aviator

I haven't see the picture of this happy family but have seen the picture of mine. With two kids at the same age and the parents not far off this terrible loss rings home quite loudly. I can only imagine what the remaining child is dealing with. I lost one mother and got to keep her for 42 years of m...

Re: 2836C's Last Flight

Del, I know you are busy but very much appreciate you taking some time yesterday morning to chat with me. The adjuster was a great guy. He was easy to talk with and open for discussion. He just treated me like I would have hoped to be treated. I did pass on the word that you asked me to pass on. He ...

Re: 2836C's Last Flight

Bruce, Thank you very much for the examples given and information provided. I feel much more confident that I will be well taken care of as this was an incident that was well out of my control and there won't be much question if this plane is fixable or not. I will do my best to just go in with an o...
