Here are photos of the removed shins and torque tube. Note the corrosion on the tube. I don't know how you would ever
see this on a normal inspection.
I would like to give credit to the shop that did the work. Tail Wheel Ventures LLC, 705 Rod Sullivan Rd, Sanford NC 37330, 919-291-4408

Engine Baffling
There are a number of good metal workers in my EAA chapter that I can call on to help me repair the
engine baffling on my 170. My question is are there a set of drawing floating around that can be
borrowed or purchased to aid in getting all the bends and holes done in the right way?

Re: Continental O300C oil pan
pan1.jpg I am posting my experience on this problem in hopes that it will be of some value to others. My problem started in January when I notice a small puddle of oil on the ground under the end of the cowling. The source of the leak remained elusive until annual time in June. The engine sat devoi...

Re: Repairing a leaking oil pan
I have the same problem. My pan was repaired by Drake Air in 2011. I now have a crack outside of the welded area.
I see three choices.
Send the pan back to Drake, find a replacement, or send to Okanagan Aero for an epoxy repair.
How about some advice from those who have been down this trial.

clock removal
There is a lot of information on clock repair or replace, however not much on how to get it out of the panel.
When I look under the panel I see two nuts that look easy to turn. I don't see an easy way to hold the screws from turning.
A little guidance before I mess things up would be helpful.
