landing patterns
As an Instructor of a few years, with primary students, I teach power off precision landings until solo time. This way patterns stay tight and a every landing is a practice force landing. Power to idle opposite the numbers and base pattern accordingly. Works every time.

gas shutoff
I had this same problem a year ago. I disassembled the valve. My valve showed excessive pitting and was too far gone to hone out the pits. I had to buy a new one. the replacement part isn't an exact replacement.

The CDI in my installation is the K?209A. Same instrument can be selected for GPS or VOR/ILS=GS. My Installation is IFR enroute and terminal certified.

Paint
I just had my 170A painted at Jacksonville TX Airport JSO. The quality was outstanding. Quoted paint price was 5900. I had slight hail damage and dents. Also Corrossion x while control surfaces removed. Total tab was $7200. Pictures available. (bkrause@netdot.com.)

Hangar rental
Rental at our local airport (OCH) "East Texas" is 100-125 for T hangar with lights and power. Hangars are privately owned with land leased from the city. LFK, 20 miles down the road Hangars are owned by county 135 and up in shared with T's going for 150. F-17 county owned, some have floors...
