Re: 1948 170 Rebuild
The 170 and the 170A will be the same with the exceptions of course those new things added to the A the 170 didn't have. One this comes to mind is the fuel lines and the fuel selector would be different between the 170 and the 170A. The 170A being preferred. However you'll have to look at the fuel ...

Re: Airworx 180HP O-300 STC
I very interested in the Airworx STC. Although my engine is around 1000SMOH so changing the engine is not on my short list, yet.... My neighbour at my home base airport has an early 172, under the owner maintenance category, (Canada). He just picked up an overhauled 0-300 that has been massaged with...

Re: 1948 170 Rebuild
Looks like the lower cowl has the newer air scoop inlet. I did the same to my 48, my old inlet was pretty much destroyed after years of vibrations. Looks like a fun project.

Yes and it’s impossible to install any bolt regardless of type back into the inboard position with the head on the top surface. I have new NAS145-14 and -18.

Installation of the original NAS145-14 (2) inboard location is not possible due to the way the original attachment w...

Sorry, I needed to re-open an old post. Where did you get a new bearing and bushing from for the lower rudder hinge point. FYI the lower fuselage hinge bolt is an AN3.

Re: Wings not even at rest
I have 1953 170B. I’ve noticed that when parked on level ground one wing is lower. In fact there is a 6 inch difference at the wing tips from ground to top of tip between left and right wings Aircraft cabin is level . Aircraft taxis straight and is mostly in trim in flight. Any ideas? Dan Waters Bl...

Forward spar crack at the trim cable inlet hole. Doesn’t appear to be any repairs out there. I should add this was the start of the removal.
