Thanks for the reminder. Did that a couple days ago when I registered the new ACK. Kind of have to look around on the noaa site to find out how to un register a elt or report it as destroyed or whatever. Greg

Re: Kannad ELT problems...

Well I just picked up a ACK. Should be a easy instal, out with the junk in with the new. I don't have a personal beacon like the spot or anything but I do have and use a sat phone religiously. Thanks everyone for your information. Greg

Re: Kannad ELT problems...

Well after looking things over with my mechanic, Im not real sure if the coax from the antanna had a loop in it or a droop, before attaching to the elt, as Im not the one who unhooked it the other day when it was going off. Its about the only way water could ever enter the unit is a direct drip into...

Kannad ELT problems...

Couple days ago I get a call from wasilla city manager telling me they had a local mechanic go unlock my plane and shut off my elt. Immidatly I was wondering why I had not got the call from RCC asking about it, so I called them. Turns out, CAP was out flying and picked up a 121.5 strong at the airpo...

Q

One more question for the foreflight users, is if you subscribe and have it on your iPad, can you use the same account on your phone without paying for 2? :?:

Re: Navigation Systems for iPads

Thanks Rob, I have been flying so long with my 295 for navigation when needed and my 60csx for terrain and information. Been studying the big players but cant really get a grasp on the mapping features of them. So with that info, Foreflight will be what I try first. Did i mention I really like your ...

Re: Navigation Systems for iPads

Man I really like the way that panel is set up. So, for someone like me who has little interest in airport to airport, weather updates, flight plans, etc, which of the iPad apps has the best maps. Things like terrain, and is there a way to zoom in and see if the creek your following has a name? Not ...

Re: cessna 170 rigging

So a quick trip to the airport and forgot my dang tape measure  With flaps up the passenger side has zero play, its tight. Pilot side has a half inch or little less of play. Defiantly a difference in the two. Flaps down, both have about a half inch or little less. Not knowing much about the ri...

cessna 170 rigging

Some place I saw a pdf or document for rigging the 170. Anybody have a copy they can email? Looking for aileron and flap settings/measurements as Im tired of having a heavy left wing. Been that way for years. Time to do something about it.
Thanks!

Re: LED landing/taxi lights

Thanks for the info everyone :) Im interested in what George finds out as I really don't want to drop a couple big bills on a light but will if nothing comes up. Im so sick of changing lights every oil change I could have paid for it years ago!

LED landing/taxi lights

So after going through several pages of led wing tip lights from George's thread a while back I am now looking at landing and taxi lights. LED of course! :D Anyone find a light that will replace our great 3 hour lights? I see the nice ones in Spruce and just wonder if there is a good option availabl...
