Re: ADF antenna mast
I have a mast from my '54 180 that might do the job. If you are still in need, send me an e-mail or phone and I'll send pics to you of what I have. Basically about 6" tall x 1" at base, tapering up to 1/2" at the top. 2 holes in lower portion for bracket and thin slit and hole for ADF...

Re: what is this??
Speaking of WD-40 - is George's concoction ok for the windshield?
I have used it on bikes and it does make them shine great.
Leery of anything but water on my windshield.

Re: QUESTION: Oil additives VS Oil brand?
I had a bad experience with the Exxon Elite in my 170. I had used it for one year then during a cold winter problems developed. I noticed that the breather tube was spitting out some thick crud that would not disperse into the ground like normal. It would sit there for weeks like a brown yellow glob...

Now would this same Brown T-9088 weather stripping be the best for the center latch opening windows?

Seat Rail?
Go with the Aerostop!!! I just acquired a 180 recently. Got concerned about the extra climb performance and what it could do if the seat pin failed. It has the same seat rail configuration as my 170 did - pin holes on one track only. I use the usual U shaped pins at the fore and aft final holes for ...

Oil loss from oil filler neck
I need some advise & recommendations from the group. I'm leaking oil from the oil filler cap. I've replaced the gasket after finding it to be loose. I also found the locking flange on the neck tube to be bent down and I had to tweak this back into position. I really can't figure out why that was...

Carb heat box repair
My carb heat box will occassionally require a little tweaking about every 6 months or so. I'll pull the knob out and it will be stuck in the off position. I'll twiddle with it and it will then behave properly. Of course, it always works perfectly during my preflight! Took another look at it today an...

oil filler gasket
My oil filler gasket seems to have just started leaking and blowing oil out. The gasket is fairly new but does not seem to snug itself down now as I think it should. 1st question is does anyone know the proper size gasket? I have not been able to locate a size anywhere. 2nd - Can I double gasket to ...

wheel pants
Thanks for the correction. I wonder what the interest would be in attempting to have Cessna make them up again. I'm sure the price will be much higher. New pants would be something. I was watching a pair of 120/140 pants go on E-bay for $585 several days ago. Not too bad of shape by the photos. No n...

Rear Seat Removal
As spring time promises to come again to New England - hard to believe at the present - I'm thinking of S&F and OSH again. What is paper work, if any, is needed to remove the rear seat from my '52? Do I have to file for any FAA paperwork? Or does it just come out and I can save 30 lbs of dead ba...

Wheel pants ?
Are the 170 wheel pants the same as for the 120/140?
It seems like I had read where the 120/140 assoc had managed to have Cessna make up a few sets a while back.
Thanks for the response.

tailspring stiffener bolt
Thanks for the great tips everyone. I tried AirRepair whom I obtained the eyebolt replacement to ease t/w tiedowns. Replacing that is what started this whole thing. They are shipping one out for $32 or so if I remember correctly. I called them before I saw the tips about jtaco.com.

tailspring stiffener bolt
I tried to look up the part # earlier on Air Repair and could not find it. Could they have a different # for it then Cessna/Univair? BTW Univair's price is about 20% higher than others. All are outlandish! I was fortunate as when I spotted the sheared off bolt/nut, I jacked up the tail and found the...

Tailspring Stiffener bolt
8O Holy Cow!! my tailspring stiffener U-bolt, part # 0510000-32 broke for my '52 170B. I checked with Univair & another source and that little part is $139.00. Now this is absurb! Anyone know of other sources are alternatives as it is really just a u-bolt that is threaded at both ends. I don't t...
