Re: Anyone have a 337 for 172 doors on your 170?
I am pretty sure I have the 337 and the door with frame. Are you looking for just the 337? PM me and I can send you photos.

Annual Squawks - to worry or not?
Just did an owner assisted annual and a couple of squawks I would like some help on. 1) Brakes: brake cylinders are loose where the bottoms attach to the "tophats" on the frame. True they wiggle some and the holes in the top hat and one brake cylinder are worn. Different hardware in each b...

Re: Flap handle decal
To properly place the pitch trim decal the system should be confirmed to be properly rigged with full up/down tab travel, then with the tab in the neutral position on the elevator (i.e., streamlined) the indicator should be at the mid-position of the placard. (The 170 and 170A tab deflection is 10 ...

Re: Flap handle decal
canav8... no I miss stated my requirements and need the trim position label which is more or less pictured on Bruce's first shot above. The label is near the flap handle on the center tunnel and I just started calling it the flap handle label when I should have stated "trim position" label...

Re: Flap handle decal
Bruce, both decals are missing from my plane. I have been lazy responding because I just put some tape on the right side with an indication from trim position for takeoff. So, I guess I miss labeled the original post, although the decal is next to the flap handle. So, I am looking for the decal that...

Re: Flap handle decal
Looking for this decal required on 170A. Can someone reference a page # for me in the IPC? I checked and this one is driving me nuts. Thanks. Correction.. this is not the decal that attaches TO the handle but the decal indicating flap position for take off. Fits on the dome at the base of the handl...

Re: Alcoa 50,000-ton forging press
I remember on a sales call to Boeing that the 737 interior line has a large press as well, I am thinking 100,000 ton but might be mistaken. Anyway it was a big as those photos in the article.

Re: Stall warning failure
Yes, Will Robinson... I knew something didn't feel right about that when I wrote it. Anyway DigiKey has more buzzers that Heinz has pickles and that is where I bought mine. Here is the USB programmable unit for those preferring the voice warning, "Danger Will Robinson". $15 buckeroos. http...

Re: Stall warning failure
Thanks Bruce. Yes, the little fingers on the horn are starting to break so I think I will try a few of George's suggestions. The ID of the housing is too small for the Lionel horn. I did find an interesting horn that also includes a USB port for downloading a sound file that plays when triggered. So...

Re: Stall warning failure
Well the little buzzer is 1.5" in diameter and 1" thick. The picture shows it with the retaining ring off, I disassembled it thinking the internal wire broke like before, not the case, it just does not vibrate correctly. I tried to "adjust" the thin metal diaphragm but am not get...

Re: Stall warning failure
The horns were usually units of two differing types. One type is a metal-cannister about 1.25" diameter and 1" thickness, with a 3/4" sounding-hole at it's front. This may be replaced with a similar unit often found in electronics stores and hardware-store buzzers. Well I have looked...

Re: Radio replacement suggestions
I am installing a ICOM A-200 in a 2 place aircraft. The purchaser believes there is an intercom in the unit. Granted the radio's brochure hints at this but looking at the wiring diagram I only see one set of jacks for the pilot. ICOM tech support said the headset and mic jacks could be paralleled bu...

but I don't recall an inexpensive method to add the strobes to the wing tips. I will re-read, thanks.

Re: L.E.D. Navigation/Strobes/Interior Lights
Gracias... Whelen says their flasher 70509 meets these requirements as per the Installation and Service Manual which would be an acceptable strobe provided the used one was not available. The used strobe I purchased will also meet the requirements and so I will go with that. It is a very inexpensive...
