Re: $100 Hamburger NORTH EAST (NY,NJ,PA,DE,VT,ME,CT,NH,MA,MD
Our flying group from KIWI visited Hampton Airfield, NH (7B3) this morning. It was busy but they got us in after about 20 minutes. The weather was great, so sitting around outside watching a cub do pattern work was just fine. The airport has just opened after some major construction. There is now a ...

Re: C-145 (O-300A?) Heavy Leak/Drip & Tach Question
BL - Are you saying women can't fly a 170? I can get in mine and fly it just fine, even if it lacks the cabin entry step from a long ago removed nose gear STC installation.... PS I also hold an ATP along with being a CFI/CFII for 20+ years. (I assume you are joking.....) I've been helping my A...

Re: Engine shop in Maine
I know Maine Aeeo is a repair station in Bangor. They took over from Telford Aviation. I'd be more interested in the overhaul shop Aerotec. I've not dealt with them. http://www.aerotecengines.ca

Re: ADS-B
I took my plane for its transponder check the other day and asked for a quote on what it would take for ADS-B compliance. I currently have a King KT76A transponder and a TransCal encoder. Both have worked perfectly since I bought the plane in 1996. The quote was for a FreeFlight "ranger" U...

Re: met-co-aire tri gear
My 170 was also converted and after crashing in Nova Scota, the replacement fuselage was also converted. After the next ground loop, it was returned to conventional gear. The rear gear boxes remain under the floor boards, along with the modified engine mount and the steps on the landing gear. I got ...

Re: Spins & Stuff
Another one here for taken primary training in the Cessna 150/152. My school had a pair of 1978 C152s. My primary instructor towed banners with a 170B model (in FL) so he did emphasize crosswind work. We would do touch and go's on one main wheel, or (if the runway was long enough) do several touch a...

Re: Check Rides
New link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejnTG7d4DMo I still don't like taking checkrides. Last one was past Friday - 135 recurrent at George's neighbors across the way. Autopilot was broke in the sim Thursday, so that session was flown by hand. Hate to say I didn't do too bad flying around on one e...
