Thank-you guys very much for your service to the club!
I’ve ordered a couple of ‘60s Chevy Pickup handles I’ve heard would work.... I’ll let you know.

Re: Interior door handle replacement
My ‘74 170B S#26330, an Alaska airplane, may have a door off an older bird, and I need a new interior door handle too. My door spline in nothing like the ‘74 Bruce posted. The end of mine is spuare with the clip groove cut into the spline approx 3/16” from the end of the shaft, and if I knew how to ...

Reset elevator trim pointer
During the last annual on the old Alaska Bush Plane we found a cracked horizontal bulkhead just under the horiz stab which required a disassembly of the aft end control surfaces. The elevator trim wheel indicator now points to a position aft of the old position. All angles on the trim tab are correc...

Re: Oil Leak Seems to be coming from Jasco 6560T Alternator
You must remove the gear assembly from the front of the alternator drive shaft. My alternator repair guy, a personal friend, did me a huge favor and cleaned my alternator, then tested it to make sure it worked. But, since he wasn't charging me anything, he told me he wouldn't remove the drive coupli...

Re: Oil Leak Seems to be coming from Jasco 6560T Alternator
Kirk and George, thanks so much! No wonder all the Jasco folks denied there was a seal in the alternator; the drive is part of the engine...not the alternator, duh.... Parts are on order!

Oil Leak Seems to be coming from Jasco 6560T Alternator
1954B, 0-300D. Have had this strange oil leak that manifests itself with a film of oil on the bottom of the firewall, runs down the fuselage and drips off the drain hole at the bottom middle of the fuselage. I've noticed there is a small amount of oil at the bean-shaped hole at the bottom of the alt...

Re: Things which ruin windshields.
Another chemical that will ruin your windshield is Rain-X. I clean mine with Plexus. You can get it at most motorcycle shops. Made specifically for plastic windshields. ....WD-40.....I'm with George. It also makes a great hand cleaner, and, believe it or not, the top of my Navy Blue Wings turn chalk...

Steve,
I've been a member for three years and I still don't know all the ins and outs of the site.
I'll call the mechanic who installed mine and I'll post the info he gives me.

Re: Another "What the Heck is This Thing"
LOL.... Yeah George, I'm giving up. I'm not flexible or small enough to twist around and trace what the wires are attached to. When I first looked it (me being upside down and twisted), my first impression was it was a some kind of a wire connector. Then I noticed the end had knurling cut onto it. I...

Re: Another "What the Heck is This Thing"
I crawled up under the panel today and tied the mystery cylinder off to a remote wiring harness where it'll never get close to the buss bar again. I examined the rear of my stall warning horn and there's no place for the thing to fit into. I quit. Don't know what it is, don't know what it does...onl...
