Re: Tailspring Assy. Parts
I had ordered a set of springs and mounting brackets from Air Repair. What I got was apparently a mixed bag of leaf springs. Some were or may have been correct and some were for a different installation. I finally ordered a set of springs from Univair and everything went back together properly then.

Magneto Harness Installation
I can't seem to find on the forums anywhere which mag fires which plugs? I did find that one fires the top and the other fires the bottom, but which is which? The TCDS didn't seem to indicate it either. I am installing the Slick ignition upgrade. I noticed when I removed the old set-up, the harnesse...

Re: Great news for PLEDGE lovers
I have seen the Pledge build up on Ag airplanes where the windshield is cleaned several times a day, every day. It is not a real problem, just switch cleaners one or two times and it is gone. I don't think it would be a problem when the windshield is cleaned only a few times a month or so. My two ce...

$100 Hamburger
Thanks Ben, just what I was looking for. I hadn't heard about McGhee's, figures though in these days and times we live in, I guess. Lowake used to have a runway next to their steak house. GREAT steak, but someone had a few too many(or one) and got killed, is the story I heard, no more runway! We wil...

$100 Hamburger SOUTH CENTRAL (TX,OK,AR,LA)
Where are the best places to fly out for a meal? I am in North Central Texas and have heard of McGhee's Catfish on the Red River on the Oklahma side I believe. Haven't tried it out yet.
Any others in the neighborhood?
Thanks,
Ryan

Anywhere Map
Let me know how the new ipaq is in the sunlight, I may have to upgrade. I think it will be very comprable to the Garmin in features and better on price.
Good luck,
Ryan

Anywhere Map
I just got my Anywhere Map software. I put it on my older Ipaq 2215. I have only used it once but it was fairly tough to see. I'm sure the biggest problem is the older Ipaq and the new ones are much better, I guess. I do like the features for the price. I am looking forward to using it more and lear...

Fuel Cap
TG, I tried to send Hartwig an email question as to which caps would work on the ragwing but it bounced back. So I will go with experience on the issue. Which caps did you get? How much are they? Can you put them on without tearing up the fabric? Did they seem to help the leaking/staining problem? T...

Handheld GPS
Hey guys, Just wondering what handheld GPS any of you use. I would like to get one but there are so many with many of the same features that I think personal experince would be best. I have a PDA and like the features of the Anywhere map software. Just want to know if any of you have used it. Any in...

I do have the parts book for the '48 170. What it shows is not what is on my airplane when it was rebuilt. I have received two sets of springs, one for a 170 and the other apparently was a mixed bag of L-19 springs. So, not being and expert and all, I was slightly confused, when nothing I ordered fi...

Mike, That is the part I was refering to. I'm not sure exactly what I have and what I need. Everything bolted up nice, except the u clip that has the alignment dowel on it. It appears to be too short. Also, when we set the airplane back on the ground, the springs appear to have too much arc on them....

What do I have?
I am still working on my tailwheel. I talked to Air Repair and they recommended putting on the new style bracket with the long fingers, as it was a service letter. It was reasonably priced so I told them to send it. When it showed up it looked like the bracket that is currently installed. So I went ...

Tailspring Parts
I changed my order today, luckily it hadn't shipped from Univair. I thought I had seen on here somewhere were the L-19 spring was just heavier duty and might last longer, especially with my landings.
Thanks for your help,
Ryan
