Re: Original metal wheel pant value
Thanks guys! I saw prices anywhere from $1,000 up to $5,000 in my search for a valuation on a set. Pretty big spread in cost!

Original metal wheel pant value
I am curious what a set or original wheels pants is worth. I searched the site and saw some fairly high prices quoted!
These are the original metal ones and I don't think there are any patches on them. When I looked at them, they were very nice and freshly painted.

Importing from Canada
I am trying to help my son locate and purchase a plane to fulfill his dreams. He recently returned from deployment in Afganistan, when he was there he spend his spare time deciding what type of plane he would like. The 170, particularly a 'B' model is at the top of his list. In our search we have fo...

Re: Prop Question
I'd be interested in what you did also to extract some extra power from an O-300! On a side note...Why are the props One inch different in pitch for the 172 vs 170 with the same engine. I noticed it when I was checking my prop. The ones for an O-300 pwered 172 seem to be even number for pitch vs odd...

gahorn, It was repaired by Bose all times. I'm not sure but if I recall, the local shops wouldn't even look at it and said something about Bose won't release the schematics. I may be wrong in this, as it may have been something else I had fixed. But I did have to have it repaired 3 times and it was ...

While at Oshkosh a couple of years ago I went to all the headset booth's and tried each one. My son also went with and did the same tests as I did. I pretty much had my heart set on the bose sine I own other Bose products. After spending the better part of one day and trying nearly all the headsets,...

gahorn, You may have misread Dougs post. The guy he talked to no longer works for Murphy. Also, the guy I talked to didn't bad mouth the Rotec.....he just suggested that if I were using my plane for bush flying I may be better off with the Lyc. due to support in the boonies. This was the main reason...

Doug, I think this info about the Rotec was told to me in confidence. I was a little hesitant to say anything because I know how things get blown out of preportion on the web. The main problem that they said they were having was to get the engine up to operating temperatures. They are located in BC ...

Doug, I was on the phone with a Murphy guy. I am building a Rebel and was telling him I was interested the Rotec. I knew they were building a Rebel with one in it. Apparently they had a lot of trouble getting it to reach operating temperature. He suggested I go with something else. There were other ...

Just got off the phone with a rep for one of the kitplane manufacturers. We discussed the Rotec engine and his impression was not all that great. They had put one one on of their planes....it was shipped to Australia...and he said unless you live in a fairly warm climate to stay away from it. Whenev...

Dave, I did a little checking and there isn't any one making kits for Aeronca replicas. But, Wag Aero bought everything from Safe-Air so it could be done if Wag decides there is a market. There is also a rumor that Univair is making fuselages. SO, if these rumors are true one could easily build one ...
