Confused re Oil Temp and Pressure gauges
My annual is due at the end of this month. My wrench tells me that I need a new oil temp and oil pressure gauge. He is telling me that I have to have the Cessna replacement part. (Part numbers 0411016-2 and 0411017-3) doing a search on these forums, these parts are no longer available or repairable ...

Re: "New" Whelen Parmetheus Landing and Taxi Lights
To answer your questions: 1) The landing light is wider than what you may be used to. It is not a typical "Spot" light, but it does not need to be a spot light. It is bright enough and wide enough to see the entire touch-down zone with no problem. As I said, it lit up a good two thirds the...

Re: "New" Whelen Parmetheus Landing and Taxi Lights
I had the whelens' installed (both the landing and taxi lights) last week. I flew at night for the first time with the lights last night. In a few words: I love em'! Seriously, one of the best "mods" I've done on my 170A. So much brighter, it's amazing. Taxi lights have a very wide beam. T...

Re: Control wheel(yoke)
I installed the Avion Control Yokes on two years ago: http://www.avion.com/Products/AvionControlWheels/CessnaControlWheels/CesCntrlWh.html I really like them. I wanted to replace the "originals" because whoever owned the airplane before me inverted the originals, cut off (yes, cut off) the...

Re: Poll: Carb Air Box Upgrade Possibility
Gentlemen: Sorry, guys, I answered my own question (UTFG!!!) There is a repair kit available from Aircraft Spruce ( http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/eppages/stcrepairkit.php ) and the airbox is available from Univair ( http://univairparts.com/shopping/shopping_cart.php ) Now it is up to my mech...

"New" Whelen Parmetheus Landing and Taxi Lights
So, I was reading my new AOPA Pilot, and read the artical on the new Whelen parmetheus led landing and taxi lights. They claim it is a drop-in replacement for the normal PAR 36 size bulbs. http://www.whelen.com/pb/Aviation/Product%20Sheets/Parmetheus_Series.pdf Does anyone know if these are approved...

Re: Replace Yoke Wheel With PTT
I can't believe that anyone could be gullible enough to pay $1250 for "steering wheels" for a C-170. I had the Avion "steering wheels" installed two years ago (Someone, many years ago, took the old, original wheels, inverted them, cut off the cross bar and had them chromed. They...

The 170 in the picture belongs to Nick Hirsch. I don't know if he is a TIC170A.

Re: Pre Buy South Connecticut
I'm based at KHFD (Brainard, Hartford, CT). I use VIP Aero at HFD ( http://www.vipavionics.com/ ) Chris does all of my work. Definitly not the cheapest place, but I do trust them. Otherwise, as Kyle said, Sandhill at Hampton is really good, and a great grass strip to boot. Let me know if I can help ...
