Re: NEW FIBERSCOPE TOOL ATS
I also have one I purchased a number of months ago - will be using to look inside during annual. We use it around the shop for looking for leaks, etc in hard to reach areas (auto). Just a note - if you use the mirror attachment, tape it and don't rely on the retainer clip to hold it into place. It h...

Re: Question on proper use of carb heat
Thanks for all the great replies. A wealth of different opinions as well as information. I guess I should have clarified that I do have a Carb Temp Gauge in the plane. Also, I am very aware of the cause and effects of carb ice in carburetors having been working as an auto mechanic for the past 30 ye...

Question on proper use of carb heat
With winter approaching, I have a question on the "proper" use of carb heat. What I "used" to do was pull the carb heat about every 15 minutes and run it that way for a couple of minutes and then push it back in. This did not seem correct. What I am doing now is when I level off ...

I've been running 8.50 x 6 with the single puck and seems to work just fine.

Re: Need something to do in Atlanta on October 4th
Just want to send a huge thanks to Dan Wood for taking the time out of his day, fighting the traffic in Atlanta, picking me up, and flyng me to breakfast. Awesome plane Dan! Now I know what it is like to fly fast in a 170 :D :D We flew to Peachstate and had a great breakfast. This is a neat little a...

Re: AIRCRAFT INSURANCE
I am about 1350 a year through Avemco with 45k hull and 1,000000 liability. And they cover with or with out skis and on grass strips without having a rider. And I am also a low timer.

Need something to do in Atlanta on October 4th
I have a meeting in Atlanta that ends Friday evening, but my flight out isn't until Saturday at 5:40 p.m. Any suggestions of things to do in Atlanta or is anyone interested in taking a fellow member for a scenic flight (gladly help on fuel, etc -not looking for a free ride).
Please let me know,
Paul

Ok - now I need to post a picture of "the beast" Rebel on serious guard duty. 120# of pure Chesapeake loving. This was taken shortly after I bought 58D and before I moved into my new hanger.

Re: A short trip to Powers, Oregon
Cool video - really enjoyed the scenery. Makes me want to take a trip back to Oregon. By the way, I had no problem watching this and had no messages (I use IE 6.0 with AVG). Thanks for sharing. I liked the camera mounted at the top of the wing strut. Bet you can get some awesome videos that way. Paul

I mounted mine on the front "skirt" of the co-pilots seat. Easy enough for me to reach yet out of the way.

Re: Parking Brake
I disconnected mine last fall - I "assumed" it was already disconnected and found out it wasn't. I could actually feel the brake (left) engage and lock turning hard base to final. Maybe sloppy rudder work on my part but a quick tap would release it. My IA had no problem with me disconnecti...

This spring has been frustrating, hasn't it John? Everytime I want to go somewhere, bad weather. Everytime weather is good - work gets in the way. Oh well.....
