Frank, The actor you are referring to is Kurt Russell. And I'm with you on the tattoo thing. I'm just a middle aged codger, but don't know what's up with the younger crowd covering themselves with tattoos. My 21 year old son just got one on his wrist  , and I can't for the life of me figure ou...

I didn't have VG's on my 170B, but did have a set on my ragwing Piper (TriPacer). If I had another ragwing Piper, I'd certainly spend the money on them. It took a little extra care when washing the plane, but really not a big deal. The improvement in slow handling performance was more than worth the...

I had a professional upholstry shop re-do the interior on N3477D. They had never installed an Airtex headliner before (they make their own) but said it fit beautifully. Turned out costing less than what the shop would have charged to do it themselves. Originally had vinyl, but put in a wool on the r...

Frank,
IMHO the articulating style is worth the extra few bucks. Nice to be able to position them wherever the offending glare is - even if it's coming through the side window. I've installed Rosen's in 5 different airplanes, but I can't figure out a way to put them in the RV.

These are the ones I used in my '56 170B. Bolted right in. Took about 15 minutes to install.

Hard to pin down without looking at the airframe and knowing the quality of the overhaul, but I'd say somewhere in the 32-36K range. Would be worth more to me if it had 300-400 hours on the engine. I'm assuming complete and accurate logs with no major damage history.

Abe,
I had the exact problem you describe. After lubing the cable, replacing the cable and overhauling the tach, I finally replaced the &*(#(@ thing. Should have done that in the first place.

Pants are nice, but big tires look great AND are more practical on rough strips.
